What the FUCK have they done to scampi fries?

As if it isn't bad enough that they discontinued cheese moments, the scampi fri has apparently been replaced by this monstrosity that tastes like it's been deep fried for an hour then blasted with a gallon of vinegar.
I haven't had scampi fries in decades and now this is what is put before me?

I haven't been this disappointed since the cabana bar was discontinued.

Well, I'll add both Cheese Moments and Scampi Fries to what is surely the list from hell!

Just the other day, I randomly remembered the biscuit joy that were 'United' and now that I have remembered I can't bloody forget.

I loved Cabanas, but whenever I mention them to anyone all I get is vacant stares.
I agree about the Scampi Fries, I bought a multi pack this week, Scampi Fries & Bacon Fries together. Not tried the bacon yet though.

They used to taste nice. This foul thing is so disgusting I've had to have a Brazil nut toffee bar to get the taste out of my mouth.

Gutted about scampi fries too. My dad had a packet the other day and I tried one and thought I had just copped an unfortunate one, but if you've tried the whole bag and it tastes like vinegar and regret, then that is sad.

To be fair I still love scampi fries. Brilliant when hungover. They are sold at most petrol stations near me (north Manc) and I love treating myself to a pack 🤣

I spotted some little garlic things that looked similar in b&m randomly but I was too concerned to buy them. Either they would be disappointing or delicious and neither was a great prospect

If anyone likes discos then I can confirm the prawn cocktail ones are strong. Also randomly bright orange/pink but I'll overlook that. They were drenched in seasoning and the salt and vinegar ones were good too. £1 multipack bargain

I had scampi fries recently and they are still delicious and the same as I always remember them. Maybe your taste buds have changed? They have always been strong tasting and super crunchy.

My sister liked scampi fries so sucks to be her when she finds out they've ballsed them up, but I always liked bacon fries better anyway.
