ironing board cover sizing help needed!

morning all, just need someone to tell me that if my ironing board measures 122cm x 38cm then I need the same size cover to fit (because the sizing means to fit, not actual amount of fabric) not bigger.

is that right?
I haven't bought new covers for over a decade as I made the last few...so my brain is buffering over this.😁

I think covers give the range of board sizes that they fit. As they are adjusted with a drawstring (usually... I think!) the they fit several sizes.

Or are you talking about a cover that hides the board rather than the cover you iron on? 😂

I've been looking on Amazon and one seller did have a "how to choose size" part of their listing so yeah, the board size is the same as the cover size, the excess to cover sides & underneath is not included.

I could've done this independently I guess 🙈 but you know those moments when your brain "skips a beat"...urgh
