Fish pie recipe and other batch cook meals

Hello mumsnet. I'm going to be doing a batch cook afternoon this weekend as I need to stock my freezer with meals I can pull out in the morning as I finish finish late and don't want to resort to ready meals.
Does anyone have a good easy fish pie recipe that doesn't have parsley sauce in it please and is freezeable?
And do I cook it all then portion it up and freeze?!

Any other easy freezeable meals too? Obviously there's the standard bolognase and chilli that I'll make too.

My husband is the fish pie maker in this house cos I can't stand it so can't help with the recipe.

But other freezable meals I have in at the moment are chilli (both a mince one and a stewing steaK one) steak and ale pie filling, chicken tagine, chicken and leek stew, soup, various Curry's, mustard sausages

Thank you 😊 chicken tagine is a great shout, I always forget about it!

Is it the white sauce or the parsley that you don't like? If it's the parsley just leave it out and use a basic roux sauce.

Or add mayonnaise and milk.

I do veggie cottage pies and freeze them in tinfoil trays that go straight into the oven from frozen. It’s a godsend on busy days.

KrispyKale · 18/11/2021 09:58

Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food fish pie recipe has no white sauce in it.

Oh, and curries, I have about 6 different curries that I batch cook and freeze - I’d avoid cauliflower in them as it can go pretty mushy but meat, paneer and most vegetables in curry do very well from frozen.

This vegetable stew freezes well:

I tend to double the recipe and make a really big batch, have some for dinner and then freeze the rest. I use the bbc basic recipe for fish pie. You could leave out the parsley. I tend to use one fish pie mix of fish and two packs of raw prawns.

So mash some potatoes and layer them in a ovenproof dish. Spread a drained large tin of salmon on top, then a layer of cheese sauce ( I cheat and buy the ready made from sainsbos). Then a layer of breadcrumbs and sometimes a bit of grated cheese. It's my sons favourite meal ! Can be frozen after cooling down.

The Jamie Oliver one is good although I don't know how well it would freeze as it uses creme fraiche, plus mash doesn't freeze well IME.

As an easy storecupboard meal I've found soft mash and a tin of salmon to be very popular here too! Add in some peas from the freezer for green stuff and all bases are covered.

Hairy Bikers fish pie with cheese mash.
