Husbands poo breath

I honestly could die. Why do men this? I feel like I need to wear a gas mask around him to avoid inhaling his smell. His body stinks of sweat in the morning too. Luckily we don't sleep together because he does night shifts but oh my lord someone help me! He's the arrogant sort. I've told him many times and even bought him stuff but he hasn't batted an eyelid! One of his mates had to tell him about his earwax hanging out his ear too! What would you do to such an arrogant stinking man?

LTB?!

LoveGrooveDanceParty · 18/11/2021 04:00

Um, the obvious?!

Not got together with him in the first place?

Raise your standards, this isn’t normal.

Rubadubdub21 · 18/11/2021 04:05

Was he like this before you married? 🙈

1forAll74 · 18/11/2021 04:18

Put him into a vat (like a big beer barrel) full of bleach or disinfectant, and put the lid on, and leave to soak for a week,. kill or cure.

Workissue123 · 18/11/2021 04:20

Be concerned that he had physical and mental health issues that could do with being addressed?

faithfulbird20 · 18/11/2021 04:26

I'm suspecting depression. No he was not like this before. He's been less hygienic since he started night shifts and working 6 days a week.

TacCat49 · 18/11/2021 05:38

Put him out with the bins.

Santastuckincustoms · 18/11/2021 05:42

Book him a dentist appointment.

leafygarden42 · 18/11/2021 05:44

@faithfulbird20 - hygiene issues aside - doing night shifts 6 days a week sounds totally hideous. Does he really just get one day a week off? He might just keel over soon if has to keep doing that, then the hygiene won't be a problem.

JuneOsborne · 18/11/2021 05:47

Oh wow, that's a shit work pattern. I'd be verging on depressed too.

faithfulbird20 · 18/11/2021 06:01

He just won't listen to me about the work shift. I know he's exhausted but he looks like a wreck. He works hard so we get a good deposit and mortgage for a house.

grapewine · 18/11/2021 06:06

That's such crap hours. I'd be losing the will to live.

That said, it sounds so grim. I couldn't deal with that, especially if he is arrogant about it and refuse to even try to do anything about it.

Helpstopthepain · 18/11/2021 06:10

He needs to see a dentist and maybe a doctor. Poo breath could be an infection.

Piggyk2 · 18/11/2021 06:15

Why is he working 6 days OP? Is this what's making him depressed? Do you work also?

makingmiracles · 18/11/2021 06:31

I bet he has tonsil stones, they most definitely give you poo breath, they stink.some people are able to extract them themselves, otherwise, there’s tonsil laser ablation to get rid of the crypts and therefor stones.

Heatherjayne1972 · 18/11/2021 06:52

Poo breath is likely gum disease or some other mouth/ throat infection
It smells like the back of a dustbin lorry mixed with rotting flesh. Urg

However if he’s resistant to any kind of personal hygiene your divorce lawyer can help
Seriously why put up with this.

UhOhOops · 18/11/2021 07:09

What would you do to such an arrogant stinking man?

I divorced him

pooonastick · 18/11/2021 07:22

Is he chronically dehydrated? This is one of the most common causes of bad breath . Secondly it will be periodontal disease , poor oral hygiene etc. Tonsil stones can be a cause .

EarringsandLipstick · 18/11/2021 07:24

God the disdain in your post for him.

What would I do?

Firstly, I'd talk honestly & clearly to him.

You say he won't listen to you. If that's the case, and you've been clear, I would leave.

I couldn't be with someone with such revolting personal habits. However, it's not about 'men', it's about one man, your husband and it's hardly happened overnight.

Claudethecat · 18/11/2021 07:28

Hmm. One minute he is arrogant, the next he might be depressed. On the off chance this is real, night shifts can really mess with physical and mental health, so he might actually need some help.

bloodywhitecat · 18/11/2021 07:32

Does he drink a lot of coffee? I cannot imagine 6 night shifts a week, the toll on his physical and mental health must be huge.

Ugzbugz · 18/11/2021 07:47

People at work must be complaining about the smell to which won't be ideal.

Speak to him, can he cut one night down?

Alternatively leave.

BleuJay · 18/11/2021 08:56

What’s the point of him working all out to get a deposit for a house with someone he isn’t intimate with and turns her nose up at him?

Why are you staying with him if you are so repulsed by him?
