Experiences with fridges that dispense cooled water?

I only like water that is cooled so have loads of jugs in the fridge with water but they take up lots of space. Can I hear about your experiences with the fridges that dispense cooled water, please? They are more expensive of course but do you feel they are worth the money? What brand do you have? Do they work well? Is the water as cold as water simply stored in the fridge? Do they dispense water quite quickly or do you have to wait ages to fill a jug? Thanks for any opinions!

Does your cold tap not dispense cold water? Mine does!

I think the plumbed in ones are good.

We have one you fill and the novelty wore off quickly. Brita filter to remember to change. Need to use and clean or well ours got not manky but not as clean as would like.

Takes up space in the fridge so that's a waste for us.

If plumbed get ice dispenser too and pretend to be American!

Depends where you live warm! How far from mains, in flat etc.

I really like mine. Also love the ice feature.

The sellers left it and it has ruined me as i can never go back to a piddly old standard fridge and freezer.

We've got one - a fairly cheap Samsung American fridge-freezer look-alike which we've had for years (at least 12 if not more!). We change the filter about once a year and it's £30ish.

Everyone else in the family likes the water from there but I drink lots of water through the day and prefer mine from the tap - the water from the fridge is (in my opinion) too cold to drink comfortably.

I live in a hot climate and couldn’t live without it. Our tap water is great but in summer it comes out so hot you could make tea with it. We also have the ice maker. It makes a large bucket of ice cubes and we regularly run out in summer.

Yes we use ours all the time and the kids are constantly filing up their water bottles. Ours also produces ice and crushed ice which is very handy too.

Most fridge freezers that have a cool water dispenser also have an ice maker. If you're in a hard water area, I would advise against getting one that's plumbed in to the mains water supply. Ours repeatedly got so chalked up the dispenser funnel kept breaking. We've currently got one that you fill with bottled water, which works better for us when we remember to fill it.

The problem with the ones that are not plumbed in is that they get manky and moldy and need cleaning all the time.

A friend of mine has one and I was nearly sick when she handed me a glass of water from it. It stank. It was such a pfaff to remove from the door and take to the sink to rinse and refill that she just tipped water into it and never rinsed or washed it.

I also like very cold water - I just use tap water and throw in a couple of ice cubes.

We have one and at firsr used a lot now no one remembers and just reminded me to go throw water away , but if you use s lot , it is cold.
I just wash it with soap and water , will have to check if it has a filter ??

Yep we have one and if gets used constantly. We've definitely all been drinking more water since we got the fridge with the dispenser. I'm sure the novelty will wear off one day, but so far so good!

We have one and love it. Also does ice. It's got a filterer in it too so much nicer than the tap water as we live in a hard water area. I'd. Reccomend a plumbed in one though as otherwise the water container just takes up half your fridge and you need to keep refilling anyway
