I’ve been offered a weekend away with DH, without our three children for the first time in 6 years. Sadly, I’m now so institutionalised into family life I have absolutely no idea what to do or where to go! Probably looking at somewhere in the U.K. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks x

What sort of thing do you enjoy? Where are you based and how far would you be happy travelling?

We’re based in the North of England and would be happy to travel 6ish hours drive. Don’t really want to go to the southwest as I grew up there 😂 I like cities and countryside equally. Love walking, music, theatre, museums etc. Hate shopping. Don’t really drink but love food! More important for me to get up early in the morning and go running than stay beyond 9.30, ha ha . Basically, dull as fuck!

If you like theatre I’d check what’s on and where and base the whole trip around that.

So probably London or Manchester.

Potentially leave early on the Sunday morning and stop somewhere for a lovely walk on the way home.

Yes go to the theatre or watch some live music, it will transport you to another world and you’ll be amazed how joyful it is to do something like that uninterrupted.

Honestly go for culture over nice walks you can take kids to the countryside but not to a gig.
