Had anyone managed to get through to a human being at the DVLA recently?

I know...Covid...backlog...blah blah blah.

We applied for DDs provisional 9th August, sent off the form with her birth certificate, photo and NI number about a fortnight later.

Had to do it that way as passport just expired and photo out of date anyway - didn't see much point in renewing that as she's not likely to be going abroad anytime soon.

We still have no licence. According to tracker they are still awaiting paperwork and according to website they were dealing with mid Septwmber applications a couple of weeks ago so assume paperwork is lost.

I'm not thrilled about the lack of a licence but I'm more concerned that multiple forms of ID have gone missing.

I have been trying to get through to the DVLA for weeks now...just wondering if it's worth keeping trying or whether to deal with the missing docs/licence and payment by snail mail and just reapply (possibly via getting her passport first).

You should get it soon. We applied for my DD'S mid August. It came a week ago. If you had to send paperwork it's classed as a paper application so takes longer.

Thanks Pheasants.

There's still hope then. It's just so frustrating not knowing whether it's just the delays or if the paperwork has gone missing which tbh is far more of a worry.

i had a change of photo and a change of address.... still waiting two months later

did it all at the post office and she saif probably three weeks.

I am glad I found my paper licence when we moved....not sure if it is relevant or valid, but at least it's proof I had a driving licence.
