So, I’m just back from the gp - a couple of weeks ago I felt a lump in my breast and it hasn’t gone away so I rang gp this am and by some miracle was given an appointment within hours. Thing is, when she checked my breast she basically said “blimey, you’ve got loads of lumps in there”…at least 4(!) in the side I thought I had found 1!!!…and then several on the other side too (where I hadn’t noticed anything😳). On the bright side this, (& the fact my glands aren’t up etc) indicates they’re probably cysts but she’s referring me to breast clinic anyway. But what I’m asking myself is how can I have been so inept as to not find multiple lumps? Whilst I don’t have a regular diarised ‘check myself routine’ I do have a good feel around every couple of weeks or so and I’ve previously watched ‘how to’ vids on YouTube. I feel totally stupid as I’m still obviously doing it all wrong! I’ll ask for advice on how to check properly at the clinic but am now wondering - where has everybody else leant their ‘breast check’ skills?!!….oh, and some reassurance if possible would be lovely too…I’ve already developed one chronic condition this year🙈….
