Decided to do DD age 13 a “book” themed advent Calendar. Will be mixture of books, bookmarks, reading light, snuggly blanket type things.
Give me your top 3 books to include.
Tricky age as Seems too old for kids books but not quite mature enough for adult books.
Thanks in advance.

Nice idea! How about “Letters from Father Christmas “ by Tolkien? It’s a beautiful Christmas book with letters he wrote over a series of years to his own children. You could do a mixture of old favourites like “Dear Santa” or The Jolly Postman” as well as some wintry ones. How about “Frost Hollow hall” by Emma Carroll too?

When I did this, I just went round the charity shops as I couldn't afford to buy new and there were some real gems.. could be worth a look?

My Great Aunt gave me the Emily trilogy by LM Montgomery for my 13th birthday. I loved them. I still like them now.
Has she read the Geek Girl series by Holly Smale? They are YA and a lot of fun

I haven't got any recommendations but just wanted to say what a lovely idea and hopefully I'll remember for when my DC's are older ☺️
