Being the age I am I'm completely clueless.
So far I have on the list:
Flask for tea/coffee
Glass Water Bottle
Note book
Pens
Lunch box {feel like back in school}

It's an apprenticeship so I'll be writing down a lot for coursework, although there's also an online portfolio.

Anything else people can advise? Also will pop some paracetamol in my bag.

It is a bit like school but you can always go and get things you need! A lot will depend on if you have a place to store things like a locker. I wouldn’t take much to start with.
Do you need photo ID, bank account details or anything like that on the first day. I would take a travel mug, coffee or tea, water bottle, notebook, pen and lunch. The learning notes might be given out as a handout or on a learning portal. I assume you will get a work laptop.
Have a usual stash of bits with you, san pro, tissues, paracetamol and meditation you usually use.
Congratulations and all the best in the job. You sound conscientious and prepared you are an employers dream.

What do you need on your first day? Passport, national insurance number, bank account details? They will tell you what you need.

After that it's just lunch and drink bottle and paracetamol really :)

Oh and spare sanitary pad/tampon if you use them.

What type of apprenticeship? Indoor or outdoor work? Glasses if you need them to read/write. Do you have a locker or other secure place to store stuff during the day?

ON my first day in my first academic job, one of my colleagues had her wallet stolen from her office, which she'd left open as she went to the loo -- it made me very security-conscious.

Thanks for all the suggestions! It's an indoor office type job. Small family run business. I won't have a locker.

This really means a lot! I've been a SAHM for nearly a decade and had my kids young so I'm so grateful to be given this chance by the employer, I really want to try my best.
