Wedding Gift for amazing cleaner

KitKatKit · 17/11/2021 10:10

My fantastically brilliant cleaner is getting married soon, and I'd like to buy her a gift. I don't really want to get a generic gift card (though I'm sure something like a John Lewis one would get maximum use) - what can I get her that is appropriate?!

Help please!

Happy to spend about £50-£75? She's quite 'girly' (by that I mean she likes hair and beauty stuff, having her nails done, hair did etc). She's in her 40s if that helps.

I honestly wouldn't overthink it.

Gift voucher, bottle of decent fizz and some nice chocolates with a lovely card saying how much you appreciate her.

Or extra cash with her wages.

A bottle of champagne and some cash. Keep it simple.

Is she having a honeymoon?

Cash in a card with a note saying please have a meal/bottle of fizz on us.

If you're not invited to the wedding I think this is best. If you are, then I can see you might like to give a gift. Champagne / fizz is a crap gift (sorry) because I bet she'll end up with more bottles that she can drink in a sensible timeframe. We certainly did.

How about a meal for two voucher at a really nice restaurant?
I would love that if someone got me that.

Crumblinginside · 17/11/2021 10:57

I'd go for the John Lewis voucher

wertheppl · 17/11/2021 11:44

Most folk would just perfect the cash so that's what I usually do. If you don't want to give cash then a restaurant voucher as someone suggested would be nice.

Maybe something small from Etsy with the date of the wedding and a voucher/cash.

White company vouchers

MrsFin · 17/11/2021 15:23

Does she have a wedding list?

ssd · 17/11/2021 15:26

John Lewis voucher

MforOff · 17/11/2021 16:34

Cash or vouchers. And a card saying how much you appreciate her. I'd give her paid time off before or after too.
