College failing to meet their placement responsibilities?

I wonder if anyone has any ideas what to do next please?
My dd who is 22 is at college studying an HNC in childcare. As part of the course there is a placement for 2 days a week and this was due to start in October. Unfortunately they have been unable to arrange sufficient placements for all student son the course and she is 1 of 3 who have yet to have their placement assigned.
She is now being told she has to arrange a placement herself (which seems ludicrous!) and her tutor and (?)guidance tutor are saying it's up to her as they have exhausted all possibilities!

This surely doesn't sound right does it? Obviously it will be dd who has to discuss further with them but I said I'd canvas opinion 😂

No it doesn’t. These placements are ridiculous enough now that people have to take on lifelong debts to go to Uni. In many areas there are simply not enough available for the number of students they are shoving through the system. As someone who had shit ones they impressed on me how little training organisations have to train people now, and how much students are used as free labour. Look into the contract with the Uni, check what they’re supposed to offer, and start going through the Uni’s complaints procedures.

Be aware that that is very stressful, and the Uni with shit placements that I went to was quite hostile rather than professional about it.

Universities now are disgusting rip-off merchants that control access to decent money rather than knowledge and are restricting that through foul means rather than fair. We all feel the lack in the lucky few that get through by luck rather than knowledge. If you have the resources and voice please start kicking off about it in public!
