Anyone stayed at the Renaissance Hotel or the Marriot near Heathrow?

We are staying Sunday night to pick up DS 6am Monday at terminal 3, looking at hotels nearby rather than onsite

ivykaty44 · 16/11/2021 22:32

The premier inn is much nicer than the Renaissance. The T5 one is good too. The Marriott is ok. The Hilton is fine.

Depending on how far you're prepared to be, consider Moxy, Radisson Red and Staybridge Suites.
Renaissance and Marriott are large hotels, usually used for conferences and the rooms are quite tired.
Hilton Garden Inn at T2 is fairly new but you do pay a premium to be connected to the terminal.

Stayed at Hilton T2 when we took him but parked off site as it was £72 over night!!!!

Plan is to stay nearby then drive to airport near his landing time, put car in shortstay carpark, greet him, get to car then drive home.

Think will go for the Prem Inn and then at least we can go get a decent meal somewhere

SortCode I used to work for Marriott - not at Heathrow, but think the rooms at PI are as nice

I took snacks and a small bottle of wine, bubbles and had a lovely evening.

my only tip is to ask for a room away from the lifts and you'll have a quite stay

SortCode · 17/11/2021 12:22

Fab PI it is then, this is the one on Bath Road???

OP posts:
ivykaty44 · 17/11/2021 17:37

Just checked the address and yes it is on Bath road

I was dropped off on both occasions and they allowed for the car and driver to come into the hotel and have a drink when they dropped me and my luggage off - this was free. Not sure how much the parking cost?

You can walk through to terminal 3 from the hotel - its about 7/8 minutes walk at most.

Once in T3 you take the lift down to get the shuttle train to other terminals for free

We're collected DS (from Aus!) early December from T2, and have been toying with the idea of a hotel. I think we've decided that as we'll be too excited to sleep, we'll just make a very early start!

Excited for you@SortCode - I bet you can't wait for that hug either.

NEXT QUESTION!
So next question if we drive to Heathrow can we drive to any short stay carpark...as Im guessing we will be there 2 hours tops or should we pre book

OP posts:
SortCode · 17/11/2021 18:13

@ajandjjmum just been told that no need to pre-book the Short Stay Car Park, prices starting at £5.10 for a stay of under 30 minutes.

Full list of rates on our website here: www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/heathrow-parking/heathrow-short-stay-parking

Yikes - 2-3 hours in Short Stay would be £17.10.

OP posts:
SortCode · 17/11/2021 18:17

1-2 hours is £13

I would suggest booking the cheapest, they are not anything to write home about. Last time I stayed at the de vere Windsor for £50 incl breakfast and free parking

ivykaty44 · 17/11/2021 20:59

google free 2 hour parking, but check the price after the free 2 hours
