Returning faulty item advice

Hello, didn’t know where to post, posted here for traffic. I brought a car seat just under 6 months ago. It has broken, straps won’t loosen or tighten. We have sent it back to the brand for them to inspect it, it has a 4 year guarantee. However since doing this I have found out that this brand of car seat is a bit shit, and actually not as safe as they advertise. They are fixing the seat, but I have lost all confidence in the car seat, it has now been transported by dpd in just a cardboard box no padding to be fixed, and I am sure that’s how it will be sent back. Do I have any rights? At this point I would accept any type of refund (seat was nearly £200 just to buy something that I feel I can trust/is safe). From googling if the item is under 6 months I am protected by certain laws, but I am not sure if these entitle me to a refund, not just a fixed product (which may have been bashed about in the back or a delivery van) thanks
