Party food to order

Just been on waitrose and there is nothing available!Confused I'm celebrating my baby's first birthday and didn't want any hassle of cooking. Sainsburys hardly have anything either, M&S and Tesco don't seem to do it unless it's Christmas food. Anywhere else?

What do you mean by party food though? Things like cakes and sandwich fillings? Surely they've got those?

EL1984 · 16/11/2021 11:43

Oh god, I did this recently for my boys 1st birthday.
I ordered cut up wraps and fruit kebabs from waitrose catering, wraps were nice, fruit was terrible and tasted a bit off. Next day 8 of us had vomiting and diarrhoea, 2 of the babies had it so probably wasn't the food as they didn't eat it but it still really put me off.
Pret do pre ordered little sandwiches and so do Paul. Or try a local cafe/deli to do a pre order platter of bits.
The best 1yo party I've been to this year had a big cheese platter and charcuterie, that wouldn't be too hard to put together with a bunch of grapes.
Good luck!

Sainsburys have this on their food to order page:

food-to-order.sainsburys.co.uk/category/platters-wraps

Although as a word of warning we ordered this for our wedding buffet earlier in the year and none of the sandwiches/wraps arrived in the store and they told us that this often happens! Anyhow, they rectified it by allowing us to choose which ever pre-packaged sandwiches and wraps we wanted, so was ok in the end

Blackmagicqueen · 16/11/2021 11:46

If you have a local costco i recommend their sandwich platter and chicken goujons, pizza bites etc you put in oven etc.

Blackmagicqueen · 16/11/2021 11:47

Oh and bakery brownie bites, cupcakes etc

BarbaraofSeville · 16/11/2021 11:51

Morrisons do this sort of thing, it's all made in individual stores so very fresh and much cheaper than Waitrose.

Teacaketotty · 16/11/2021 12:09

Morrison’s is really good for this type of thing

Maizzee · 16/11/2021 12:09

I had this problem recently, but Morrisons still did it while none of the others did.

Amdone123 · 16/11/2021 12:12

We ordered from Morrisons for a hen do.
Wraps and sandwiches were lovely. And reasonably priced.
Costco is good too.

loudbatperson · 16/11/2021 12:15

Ocado now deliver M&S entertaining instead of ordering it via M&S for pick up.

I am not sure what exactly they are offering now though.

SleighBells21 · 16/11/2021 12:16

Another for Morrison's!
They were lovely

cruffin · 16/11/2021 12:57

Ok I'll check out Morrison's!

I mean the platters that you just pick up.
