Multiple swollen glands with no illness?

My 6 year old has had a pea sized lump on her neck for a couple of months but it hasnt grown and i know that sone children do have more noticable glands in general.

I was just giving her a hug tonight and stroked her neck and i noticed there were three lumps now. All small but i dont think there were three before although i didnt go crazy checking.

She is totally healthy. Is this a normal thing for a child to have?. They are only visible when she bends her neck so they are not huge.

She hasnt been ill for quite a while and she doesnt seem to be fighting anything off.

We are having a few other minor medical type issues with my other children so i probably havent pair enough attention to this Sad

Maybe get it checked up by gp? I mean it could be normal, but probably good to get it assessed and monitored over time?

I would get them checked at the GP. Most likely just lymph fighting something even if she's not showing any more evident signs. Lymph can stay swollen for a long time after an illness.
They often send for the area to be scanned and you'll find out there and then.

Scalp or ear infection?

My daughter had swollen lymph nodes in her neck 28 years ago as a toddler and still has them now and I still have nodes up from gladiator fever 40 years ago!! Get them checked out if you are worried for your own peace of mind.

Thanks! I feel a bit better knowing other people have this!.
I might email my gp if they are still swollen next week to check on them.

My daughter had a gland swollen behind her ear after a bad case of chicken pox (she is 4) as it was still their after 4 months we had a scan done (soft tissue scan, behind her ear and the glands in her neck to) which showed they were just glads that had swollen and explained they can often not go back down to their original size. My little one is quite small so I also noted after her ear one came up that I could see her glands on her neck when she angled her head. I asked the paediatrician about this on her scan day and again she explained this was normal. Once they get a layer of fat on their neck they become less visible. I would say go and chat to the doctor about it as otherwise you will just worry and it’s always best to get it checked xx
