Cervical smear help..

I went for my cervical smear today and was tensed. It did pain a bit but I carried on because want it done. When I wiped after a wee there was mucous and a bit of blood… is this normal? I’m worried…

Normal, don't worry.

Yes, that can happen. It should clear up very quickly. Don't worry.

Yes they scrape your cervix to get the sample which can cause a bit of bleeding.
Totally normal

Had one done about 3 weeks ago. Extremely painful but like you I just wanted it done. Bled just after it but stopped soon after. Got results which were fine and I don't need to go back or another 5 years.

Yes normal. Hugs.

Yes normal and well done for going.
Had I not gone for mine I’d be dead now as it found CC and I had a full hysterectomy to remove it and any chance of it coming back.

So when I hear people say they won’t go it worries me

StarlightLady · 16/11/2021 06:12

It is normal. But in addition it would have saved a lot of heartache if you were told this.

YepNameChanged · 16/11/2021 08:19

@StarlightLady yes! The nurse just said that’s all done and nothing else

I was tense so she had to stop start a few times..I guess in true NHS fashion she just wanted me out of there…

Possibly I bled last time but I cannot recall..my memory is not bad so chances are I Ryder hence the panic.

I didn’t notice anything today morning so fingers crossed that’s it now…
