A "ghost" transaction via Tesco on my bank account, anyone had this?

Basically there are 2 identical amounts pending from my payment to Tesco today. They say it's a "ghost" transaction which will "probably" bounce back into my account. If it doesn't though, I'll be oner my overdraft limit and charged interest! Has anyone else had this and how long did it take to resolve? Thanks!

Did you shop online or in store?

Online might have done a pre authorisation for the amount but only charged you when the order was confirmed and dispatched.

The pre auth should fall away in about 48 hours

Have you filled up with fuel via pay at pump?

No it was in store! I accidentally whipped my card out of the machine before the transaction had gone through, then had to do it again, maybe that's what caused it?

I’ve had this happen with Tesco, it did rectify itself but it took a week and too me into my overdraft. Customer Services couldn’t do anything about it (both in store and online) I just had to wait for the money to come through.

This happened to me once, it dropped off my pending transactions after a week. I think your bank hold it for 5 working days and if tesco don't claim it then it just drops off.

Thanks all. One of them has now gone through and the other is still pending so hopefully it'll just drop off as suggested.
