Wellies for well endowed calfs...

ChubbyWellyLegs · 15/11/2021 20:43

I tried on some second hand hunter wellies today and they almost got stuck on my calves.

I need a pair of wellies, for dog walking 3 or 4 days a week, nothing too heavy duty.

Any recommendations? Small budget, £30ish, happy to go second hand,

Ankle wellies. Coming from a fellow well endowed calf’s mums better.

Muck boots, or fake Muck boots (or with neoprene legs).

I've got a pair of Aigle Parcours that are adjustable, and I've also got a pair of Muck Boots. Both are superbly comfortable and I walk around 5 miles a day in either. I got the Muck Boots on sale as they're purple and they were around £50, the Aigles were more at £125 but they've been worth every penny so may be worth looking at second hand.

I had a pair of Jileon wellies before and they didn't even last a winter. Appalling quality and not fit for purpose at all.

Short wellies! I got some Hunter ones and they are game changer

Does the shop where you tried the secondhand Hunter wellies do them or get them in for you?

Wallywobbles · 15/11/2021 21:00

There's a web site that sells boots for the large of calf. I got some shortish neoprene calves ones. Best ever and I'm a farmer.

Datsandcogs · 15/11/2021 21:01

Joules Wellibobs for short wellies. Or if you want to be really comfy, blow the budget, Wide Wellies, just under £60 and really good! (just bought my second pair as I was fed up of carrying them in and out of work!)

drpaddington · 15/11/2021 21:01

I got a pair of men's wellies to fit my chunky claves!

I have worn my Wide Wellie Boots for an average of 4 hours a day for the 6 months and they are doing great. Highly recommend them

WellTidy · 15/11/2021 21:33

I have the dual problem of large calves and small feet. My feet also get so damn cold so I need space for welly socks too. And I have bunions to boot.

But!

I found perfect wellies in the boys section in next. Sized up.m to a size 4. They are wide, fit my calves and are lined with Thinsulate lining. £18. Couldn’t believe my luck.

Lochroy · 15/11/2021 21:48

Jileon. Over your budget but unlike pp I've never had any issues with them. I think they're brilliant

Depends what you want them to do. If you want warm, toasty feet then check out warm wellies wide calf wellies.
If its just a pair of bog standard ones, Stormwells do some wide calf ones. I think I got mine from Amazon

I thought she wanted wellies for well hung cows!
Lemonysherbet · 15/11/2021 22:18

Jileon weies for me every time!

Lemonysherbet · 15/11/2021 22:18

Wellies. Don't worry I'm going to bed

LadyCampanulaTottington · 15/11/2021 22:20

I was hoping for baby cows in wellies Sad

VienneseWhirligig · 15/11/2021 22:39

I got some from Tesco. They are hideous (fake snakeskin) but for what I want them for (walking on the beach mainly) they are great. I always have issues with my wide calves normally so was surprised they fit.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 15/11/2021 22:39

@Chasingsquirrels yours makes more sense 😂😂

Honeyroar · 15/11/2021 22:46

Another vote for muck boots or similar (search neoprene wellies). I wear mine daily for doing our horses and dogs. But they’re too warm for summer.
