We've just finished dinner and while clearing away the rubble I've noticed the best before end date on this.

It tasted delicious so I'm not worried.

If it's deep frozen then imo it doesn't matter how long it's in there. As pp said, manufacturers put best before date for flavour (and to sell more). YABU though, about the satsuma juice! I blame MasterChef

I don't watch Masterchef. I didn't have orange juice so I squashed up some satsumas. it was very nice.

I do that quite often, last week with pork chops. I also added the syrup from a jar of stem ginger (chopped up a few balls of ginger too) to that. It was quite lovely.

Yup. that's me.
I only follow recipes for baking...well, I always adjust things there too.
I'm definitely a "raid fridge, chuck stuff in pot, see what happens" kinda cook!😁

If it had been our freezer I would be worried, since we've moved house three times since then including twice internationally.

In one freezer, never defrosted? It will be fine!

one freezer, never defrosted. definitely no issues with freezer, it was brand new in 2017 - we moved back after house extension in April so we bought it just before that (Feb I think).
