Thinking of moving to Holcot

Dear friends

My wife and I are thinking of moving to Holcot from London.
Does anyone know what this village is like in terms of crime, friendliness etc...
I will be commuting to London a few days a week.
We drove into Northampton town centre and that did not come across as a nice place.
What are the schools like in the Holcot area? We don't have children yet but this would be good to know.
Any experiences would be great to hear.

Holcot and surrounding villages are nice and have a rural feel without being too far from bigger towns. Northampton town centre itself is not for everyone, but Kettering, Corby, Market Harborough are not too far away. We live in a town 15mins from Holcot and work in Moulton and find the area is a good mix of rural and busier town environment, which suits us (me, DH and 2 DC under 3)

Holcot is in the catchment area for Walgrave Primary and Moulton Secondary - both considered nice village schools.

In terms of shopping, I prefer Market Harborough to Northampton.

I know a few people in Holcot, the village is small enough that people know and look out for one another, and there is a nice pub there.
