Biggest Loser USA-surgery?

Ok, this is an odd one but it’s bugging me, and I’m thinking someone must know.

I used to LOVE biggest loser USA (until I realised it totally messed with my head and got me sucked right into diet culture). But anyway, watching Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels was my total guilty pleasure.

But I’ve been thinking. Did the contestants get surgery to remove loose skin?

Look at the finales. Loads of people losing 100+lbs within a few months. Even people losing that amount slowly, over years, in real life usually have some loose skin. I can’t believe none of them do (fair enough you don’t see stomach but there’s none in arms/legs/face.

Any insider knowledge anyone??

No idea re surgery but I know a lot of them put all the weight back on.

The Biggest Loser got axed because a long term research study revealed that it was destroying contestants metabolism and making it near impossible for them not to regain. The skin I think with so much exercise it toned?

No because they all put the weight back on again. It’s well known that this type of weight loss never works long term. But why do they care, they made their dollars out of desperate people.

I lost 8 stone and had to have a tummy tuck. No amount of exercise (which doesn’t work for excess skin) or fasting would shift it.

But it doesn’t matter if they put the weight back on, that’s not my point.
They lost weight. They were very thin. But they had no loose skin. (That loose skin would be there before the weight went back on!)

I know the show was basically massively unhealthy, but I was just wondering if they were all given surgery as part of it.

From memory, at the beginning of the series they always wore vests or were topless.
At the end of the series (when they'd lost weight) they were in t-shirts which hid some of the loose skin.
