Beyond fed up - recurring piles

I know I am being very over sensitive/really need to get a grip, but I've had bleeding piles on and off for about 3 years now and it's doing my head in. I've had a colonoscopy - all clear. I do lots of walking, drink loads, at least 30g fibre a day and still, every month or so BANG - blood in the bowl.

Nothing to "see" even with a mirror to help, so I guess they are internal and/or minor, but it drives me mad. I worry constantly about them getting worse etc, it's awful. Does anyone else have this?? Do you just live with it and hope they don't get worse?!

Argh!!

Can you suggest to your Gp that he puts you forward for banding ?
Small bands are put around them so the blood supply is cut off and they shrivel. It doesn't always work , but worth a try .

@Jennalong I have tried but whilst one GP supports it, they seem to just write to the gastro consultant who always suggests cosmocol/movicol - but since I am not remotely constipated it makes no difference!

That's a shame. I had an ok in that area and the surgeon noticed I had them so said he would band at the same time.
TMI
A couple worked ok , and I think I pooed the other ones off as they ended up down the loo.

I would pay to go private but I haven't even got a positive diagnosis. They ruled out everything else, but because the referrals always take a while they've not actually been able to spot the piles during any of the investigations. Eg - have bleeding, 2 weeks referral to get an appointment where they say we need a colonoscopy, then wait another few months- by the time of the colonoscopy there is nothing for them to see!

So worried that is pay the money for private treatment and they wouldn't be able to do anything anyway.

Which I should take as a positive I know - as they are not serious enough to be constantly identifiable, but the off again on again blood really stresses me out Sad

I used to sit on the toilet and could hear the blood splash out of me into the water. Always bright red ( fresh blood ) which I've heard is a better sign than have dark sticky poo which would point to old blood.

Hi - this sounds like me. Doc has diagnosed piles over the phone (can't quite bring myself to insist he looks) but I can't see or feel anything just every few weeks the bright red blood that stops bleeding instantly. I do strain when I shouldn't and it is associated with when I been toilet a lot or been constipated (IBS swing both ways!!) but I too worry it will get worse.
