It just looked so tasty and he clearly likes it. It’s a Yaker made from Himalayan yak’s milk and a ridiculous expense at £5 each. It just looked so tasty like a huge Werther’s Original and I was expecting something sweet and delicious but it just tasted of….nothing!

Have I lost my mind? Please tell me other people pop ridiculous things in their mouth without thinking?

I wondered what these taste like. I think you need to have a nibble.
Have you microwaved a bit? It puffs up like pork crackling. Odd.

I hope it was a new one and not one that your dog had already chewed?!

GoingBacktoSchool123 · 15/11/2021 09:15

Yes it was a new one!

Once my dog gets hold of one he won’t let it go even for chicken.

Never tried the yak chew...but I always go out with a handful of dog treats in my coat pockets, and more than once I have absentmindedly popped one in my mouth, then realised.
I'm veggie which makes it even worse when I've just gone to eat a bit of beef strip!!!!

My youngest one has ASD, and like some children with ASD likes to chew things.
Specialist sensory chew toys are £££ (surprise surprise) so I actually buy him dog toys quite often. Yep, you DID read that right. His current favourite is a orange rubber chuckit thing. He also likes the rings as they're easier to hold than sensory chew rings.

It is what it is

Just popped to the loo leaving my 6 month old grandson on the rug surrounded by his toys....
Two mins later he had crawled across the rug and was busy chewing a (thankfully new not yet chewed by dog) braided lamb tail !!! He looked very pleased with himself!!
(DD2 was walking my dog as me and baby have Covid and she doesn't..I never leave my grandson alone with the dog, in case anyone wonders!)

fluffyblanketfeatherpillow I work in a Special School and we get quite aof dog toys for our children's sensory needs :) They are exactly the same as those on Special Needs stores and always a fraction of the price.. not to mention usually more robust .
