Present ideas for someone unwell and fed up?

My friend lives in another city and has just come down with Covid as have her 2 young DCs. She is feeling really fatigued and unwell and isn't getting much time to rest with two young kids though her DH is doing his best.

She has had a bit of a rubbish year, so I want to send her something as a treat to cheer her up. She doesn't have much money and would hardly ever treat herself to anything.

So, what are your ideas lovely mumsnetters? Budget around £40.

How about a meal box voucher so she could have a week of yummy and easy to make food?

I was thinking food related too! Feeling unwell with DC is draining and the last thing you want to think about is dinner. We’ve used a site called COOK when DS was a baby just to take some pressure off, they do lovely frozen meals (an oxymoron I know but they are really good!).

If she likes reading, maybe an Amazon voucher and some posh chocolates so she can have a read and relax when the kids are in bed.

Maybe throw in something little to entertain the kids so the parents get 5 mins quiet? Sticker books, colouring, a cheap card game basically something they can do without help.

Some other ideas:
Small hamper Aldi have lovely ones
Teas/hot chocolate with nice biscuits
Just Eat voucher
DVD of a family film, maybe a Christmas film so they can all veg out together.

It’s really thoughtful of you and I’m sure she’ll appreciate anything you send.

Thank you - some lovely ideas there, food is a great idea, as is something for the kids!
