Dh said this that he would sort out a job that needed doing. I asked if he wanted me to help but he said no. He was quite capable of sorting it out himself ( said in a jokey way)
So this afternoon I was upstairs doing some jobs of my own when I saw the thing that DH needed to "fix" so I got it out and left it all set up for him to deal with. It took me seconds to do this
When DH came upstairs a short while after he saw it and asked why I'd got it out but in a pissed off way. He said that he's told me that he would deal with it later. So I apologised and said i hadn't thought it would be an issue I was just trying to be helpful. He then huffed off downstairs and came back to fix it "immediately" as I clearly was desperate to get it done. Not the case at all Hmm I was quite literally just trying to do a nice thing.
So my question is am I being a pain by doing things like this? It's not a frequent thing but I do sometimes do things like this and then wonder what I've done wrong!
I guess looking at it all written down it could look bad as he said he'd sort it himself and I guess the jokey comment could have been not so jokey in hindsight

Yes you are because it is like dropping a huge hint. I would not like it if that was done to me.

Truthfully yes I think you were being a bit annoying. If it wasn't urgent why did you leave the items out in readiness?
And I know you say you left them out to e be nice but did you really? Sorry but I'm with your OH on this one
