Hi.Somy DD (9) has told me that certain girls in her class always whisper to each other whilst looking ather.Thishappens sometimes in the dining hall and when they lineup.Sheisn't sure its about her because she hasn't heared anything but says they always look at her when they do this and laugh.

I will be mentioning this to the teacher as I dont think this isnice.Evenif it's not about my daughter, why look at her when they are doing this and laugh?!

What would you do?

Teach her to ignore it as best she can. Girls gossiping about other girls is common, mean, but common and will only get worse when she's a teen. You can't really report much as she doesn't know what they're saying.

Maybe ask the school to do a lesson on bullying or something?

I remember kids doing this when I was that age, and I’m late 40s. They’re being mean and bullying her - they want her to know they’re doing it, hence looking at her while doing it in plain view. Talk to her teacher.

Tell her to flip them the bird.

Ok maybe being facetious but from 9 she needs to get tougher or at least pretend to be. It’s a jungle out there for girls and she needs to be strong enough to weather it. Sorry rather jaded my 13 year old been through total social annihilation just for one girls sport.

I have told her to ignore them but wanted to mention it to the teacher as my DD said she doesn't like her life!😢 She said these girls scare her.
