Admittedly, this is the first time I've even stepped foot in a Sainsbury's cafe since the start of the pandemic, but we visited our local supermarket today before our weekly shop (our first in-person shop in ages, I should add, as I decided not to renew my delivery pass---another long tale of Sainsbury disappointment)
We used to make it a weekly routine with my family where we'd have a coffee or a meal, even just a plate of chips, before shopping. It was cheap and cheerful and always something we looked forward to.
However today we arrive to find out that 1.) They are no longer doing any hot meals, apart from heating up a toastie or teacake. And 2.) They had NO coffee. Apparently the "order didn't arrive" ( do they not have an aisle full of coffee inside the store...?) They offered tea or hot chocolate instead. Baffling.
