Anybody Punjabi who could advise me?

This isn't as serious a query as it possibly sounds!

A very kind Punjabi neighbour has dropped me round a little tub with a cauliflower and potato curry and a foil parcel with roti.

Looks great & I am very keen to eat it 🙂

However, it needs to feed me and DH, who is doing a 15 mile run this afternoon and will come home ready to eat me out of house and home!

If you were going to have this to eat, what else would you want to have with it?

I would pretend it never arrived and eat the lot. My DH knows where the toaster is Grin

Hellocatshome · 13/11/2021 13:45

I'm not sure you have to be Punjabi to answer that question 🤔

SantaMonicaPier · 13/11/2021 13:47

I'm not Punjabi but I think you should pad out with protein e.g. boiled eggs plus some pickle on the side to flavour them if needed alongside the curry

You could make some rice or put some salad on the side?

You could add anything you wanted alongside it’s up to you.

This! It goes a lot further if it only has to feed one 😂

Seriously I think I’d just pad it out with lots of carbs, tons of rice?

No, I'm sure you don't need to be.... I was just interested.

rice, quinoa, naan, poppadoms, bajis, everything together

Thethreecs · 13/11/2021 14:40

Chips?

Rice?

Chips and Rice?

Although I do prefer the suggestion above about eating it yourself and hiding the evidence.

KeepingItCool · 13/11/2021 14:42

Rice, just plain boiled basmati. Keep the roti for yourself!

This. If you have one portion of food and DH isn't here to eat it, eat it yourself and he can sort his own food out.

If I must share, I'd have samosas and chick pea curry with it and maybe rice. I tend to do a few different dishes and then there's enough food for a few days without having to cook again.

Antsgomarching · 13/11/2021 17:34

Roti and plain yoghurt, I always like mine with peas, are there enough peas? . If he hasn’t seen it then it doesn’t exist (snaffle it yourself 🤫). Feeling a hankering for aloo gobi now.

mowglika · 14/11/2021 11:08

Agree boiled eggs and pickle on the side would go lovely with it. Maybe some boiled rice cooked with a bit of butter and cumin

TheVolturi · 14/11/2021 11:27

No way would I share that!! Heat, scoff, spray tonnes of air freshener to disguise and say no more. 😊
