Watching with my 2yr old - do they shout ‘Up yoursss!!’ at the beginning of the credits? I can’t think what else it could be.

It's "Honk your horns", isn't it?!

x2boys · 13/11/2021 11:59

Oh god Is this still going?
I remember watching this with ds1 when he was a toddler ,he's 15 at Xmas

LandoMilkNHoneyBadger · 13/11/2021 13:10

Yes it's "honk your horns" although in my head it will now forever be "up yours" Grin

Oh I used to like Chuggington. Although it was a sign I had clearly watched too much Cbeebies the day I found myself thinking "if this was live action the actor playing Eddie would be quite dreamy"....
Be warned. Cbeebies can do strange things to you.

I loved the window cleaning train. It was just so... bizarre.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 13/11/2021 13:21

Lol at 'up yours'!

But yeah, its 'honk your horns'.

My 19mo loves it.

Justjoinedforthis · 13/11/2021 13:55

Aha thanks, that makes more sense

I've just found this thread from typing "Chuggington, up yours" in the Mumsnet search bar!

I too have been utterly perplexed at this expression in the credits and said to DH: "I'll ask Mumsnet if anyone can solve this mystery."

It seems it's already been solved. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Grin

DS(4) came up to me the other week and asked to watch ‘Bridgerton’. I asked him how did he know what Bridgerton was? He said we’ve watched it before, with Brewster and Coco.

It took me a good few minutes to realise he meant Chuggington. I may have sung the theme tune a few times changing ‘Chug a Chug a Chug a Chug a Chuggington’ to ‘Bridge a Bridge a Bridge a Bridge a Bridgerton’ when I thought no one was listening 😬🤣

PoptartPoptart · 06/12/2021 21:18

I remember watching Chuggington with DS when he was small.. he’s 16 now and can still (begrudgingly) recall all the names of all the trains! Happy memories Smile

Years ago when internet advertising was in its infancy, there was a sort of mass mummy blogger attack (not an attack REALLY) where they started tens of threads on MN to try and gee up a fan base.
We all said nope, in fact if you Google Haliborange Kills Otters you can see what happened when Haliborange tried similar beforehand. Mwa ha ha.

ScouseQueen · 06/12/2021 21:30

It was the abandoned old town of
Chuggington that always bothered me. Chilling.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 06/12/2021 22:47

I haven't watched Chuggington in about 14yrs. I now have the theme song stuck in my head.

If you really want to freak your kids out, tell them that Driver Dan from Story Train was also the voice of Darth Maul. Shouldn't be true, but it is.

Babyvenusplant · 06/12/2021 22:49

I thought it was 'up yours' too 😂
