Just that really - once the DC are in bed, what do you get up to?

BeyondMyWits · 12/11/2021 19:42

Well I'm currently sat with my feet up, dog on my lap, cup of tea and munching chocolate enrobed oreos... all brought to me by my wonderful hubby so that the dog doesnt have to get up...

living life in the slow lane... bliss...

Mull · 12/11/2021 19:45

Sit on my arse watching TV for about 90 mins (8.30-10.00) then go to bed myself! Rock and roll. I dread the day they stay up later than I do.

devildeepbluesea · 12/11/2021 19:48

I'm already trying to persuade DD to go to bed earlier so I can! Current lying in bed watching TV on the iPad. DD is playing Minecraft and we'll both have lights out in about 45mins!!

In fairness I'm feeling quite grotty today, but even so I'm very much a lark, not an owl.

Etherealhedgehog · 12/11/2021 19:49

Dinner. Netflix. Dishes. Bed.

WhatHaveIFound · 12/11/2021 19:50

Normally DH and I sit around and watch TV but he's working away tonight so i'm sorting out a few admin things on my computer in between putting washing loads on.

Bebabelouba · 12/11/2021 19:51

Work, housework, gym, TV, sex, bath, MN, talk to friends online. Fall down an internet rabbit hole. All in no particular order Grin

tunnocksreturns2019 · 12/11/2021 19:52

I schedule in my nervous breakdown. Unfortunately the window of opportunity isn’t until 10pm these days.

Flockameanie · 12/11/2021 19:52

Varies. Catch up on work. Do online ‘life admin’. Cook stuff for following days. Read. Have a bath. Watch something. I only have about two hours between saying goodnight to oldest DC and going to bed myself, so it gets frittered away very easily!

Ragwort · 12/11/2021 19:55

Dinner, discuss what to watch on tv with DH ... usually end up with a compromise that neither of us enjoy Grin, bath, read ... separate beds ...
Some evenings I am out at a committee meeting (the excitement), Book Group, WI, meal out with girlfriends .... Summer is better when I go out for a walk in the evening.

Crumblinginside · 12/11/2021 20:07

Netflix with wine candles (tea midweek)

(dh goes for a run)
Bit of housework sometimes

Or youtube videos / instagram

bloodywhitecat · 12/11/2021 20:12

Write up my notes from the day for my fosterlings, watch crap on TV and just generally unwind from the day.

MaidEdithofAragon · 12/11/2021 20:21

Work catch up or evening meetings. If not, TV, read, crochet, MN, chat to friends online or family by phone, online shopping and life administration, short dog walk, bath, get sorted for next day, go to choir practice, or book club.

GTAlogic · 12/11/2021 20:22

Watch TV, edit photos, knit, embroidery or play on the ps4 with dh. Either that or fall asleep on the settee!

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 12/11/2021 20:50

I’ve just worked 74hrs this week and haven’t had a day off since the 9th October Sad, so as of late I’d be working on an evening.

However tonight I’ve taken the evening off (Im so tired, that I finished at 2.30pm today) and I’m sat on the sofa drinking wine, book in hand, while Mnetting.

Ive had a nana nap for an hour and dh made tea (homemade chicken kiev and mac and cheese) and he’s waiting on me hand and foot Grin

However if not working, I’m normally catching up with friends and family, being a mum and wife, household chores and likely reading a book. (I’m not a fan of tv, unless is a good Turkish series)

maofteens · 12/11/2021 20:54

My kids are teens but my eldest (18) lives on his own so it's me and the 16 year old. After having dinner watching a series (currently Party of Five) she's off to bed about 8-8.30 and I watch stuff like Walking Dead or foreign drama series with some wine.

BadwordMcGee · 12/11/2021 20:56

Laundry, pots, watch TV.

I'm so boring and have no hobbies.

ParkheadParadise · 12/11/2021 20:57

Watching TV talking to dh about my day. Have a couple of drinks. Sort out dd's bag and books for school.
Meet up with friends for dinner.
Have a bath.

YesPleaseMary · 12/11/2021 21:30

Collapse on sofa, drink tea and knit while DH channel surfs.
On the weekend I swap tea for gin.
Rock and FUCKING roll.

20viona · 12/11/2021 21:32

I literally get in bed soon as the toddler goes to bed. Netflix in bed! Asleep for 9.30.

hotmeatymilk · 12/11/2021 21:34

I just primed the staircase Grin

We’re in fixer-upper (more like fall-downer) hell so most evenings go: bedtime, oven food, grit teeth and paint/caulk/sand/swear at something.

Sometimes I drink wine and set my Rightmove budget parameters to “no maximum” and go hog wild, but that’s no fun in slow season.

Thatsplentyjack · 12/11/2021 21:41

Make dinner
Do house work
Bath the baby and do her bedtime
Have a quick bath
Lie in bed next to baby on my phone like I'm doing right now.
Sometimes get up to do a few things, sometimes fall asleep.

The older kids are 8 and 13 so they basically do their own thing. Sometimes the youngest lies with me, sometime he sits in with his dad, but the baby has me up at 5 every mornings, and still wrestles about during the night, so by 9 I'm knackered.

Titsywoo · 12/11/2021 21:43

Teens go to bed after us so evening starts after dinner - mainly we do more work (run our own business) answering emails etc, but we also watch TV and chat. Always put a wash on and the dishwasher before bed and have a quick kitchen tidy.

Youcancallmeval · 12/11/2021 21:52

Depends on the evening. Sunday to Thursday, work unfortunately. Friday and Saturday, TV, read, chat with friends, go out, house stuff, sleep.

ivfbabymomma1 · 12/11/2021 22:22

Collect my DS from childcare, play time, tea, tv, bath, bed. (For him) then a bath or some jobs then meet Dh on the sofa around 8 for some down time till bed (10/11 on weekdays)

Nat6999 · 12/11/2021 23:39

Go up to bed really early, I have ME/CFS & chronic pain so I am comfier tucked up. I read, watch Netflix/TV, listen to music, crochet & relax, ds is in & out as he is usually upstairs doing similar & playing on Xbox.
