Curry's after they pointedly blanked me in favour of men when I was there to buy a whole kitchen's worth of appliances.

It's been 21 years so far.

Kenwood (damp proofing) for recommending unnecessary work then cooking it up, which if you Google seems to be a common experience.

Greece, because my husband is randomly convinced the touristy places poison the stray cats at the end of the season.

Jet2 for playing that godawful "you ready for this song" on loop for two hours when we were stuck on the tarmac.

Good to see I am not alone in my long held grudge with Barclays...

I can't believe the amount of whole countries on here....

@GiveMyHeadPeaceffs

Yes, a local car dealership. I went to look at a car and my DP came along too. Now, my DP only came along to look after our then 2 year old DS. The salesman practically ignored me and spoke the whole time to my DP who told him repeatedly that buying the car had nothing to do with him. Despite telling the salesman I was local he proceeded to take me on the shortest test drive possible and gave me directions. I got The Rage at his stinking sexist attitude and swore blind I'd never buy a car from them. I also watched as they reduced the car I'd been looking at by £2k because they couldn't sell it. Tossers. Grin
In fairness, that would rule out ALL car showrooms and salesMEN. Never bought a car when didn’t get them talking to my ex despite it being my car with my company car allowance. Now I’m on my own they just patronise and manplain me
goingback · 13/11/2021 12:37

Lush and Subway for the stench from their shops
BT for failing to install a line correctly in an extension, then trying to charge me to fix it and passing on to debt collection agency for refusing to pay.
B&Q for refusing to return a hob that was not the one that should be in the packaging and accusing me of switching it foolish of me to not check the damaged packaging
Arnold Clark- car in for service, didn't wash and valet as per terms -claimed equipment not working but not offering reduction -so they took it to local garage car wash , broke off roof aerial and wing mirror then refused courtesy car while getting fixed.

Sensory Education/Cheap Disability Aids
HSBC - for ethical reasons
Nestle - ditto

I still have a Pay Pal account for now, but Pay Pal’s customer service drove me to tears. They’re definitely the most frustrating company I’ve ever dealt with.

Pombearsforthewin · 13/11/2021 12:40

Starbucks. They (or rather the parking enforcement company they employ) gave me a ticket once for not buying anything from the coffee shop but parked outside to eat a cheeky Big Mac. The McDonalds and Starbucks were on the same site, but the Starbucks has a sign which says you can only park there if you have bought food from there. And yes.... they do have CCTV. I know I might be being a bit unreasonable but it still rankles.....

Cattenberg · 13/11/2021 12:41

Greece, because my husband is randomly convinced the touristy places poison the stray cats at the end of the season.

I’ve heard this too. It does put me off going to Greece.

And I’d never go to Cyprus following their treatment of a British rape victim.

Oh god Paypal too

I got scammed and realized just after I paid on paypal, so I opened a complaint. They investigate and said there wasnt enough evidence and closed it. So when the items I bought never showed up etc, I tried to open another complaint and they said you couldnt have two complaints about the same thing?

Never used them again

Vodaphone after identity theft, bailiffs etc.

Never got to bottom it but it took ages to sort out.

Never found out if it was my identity or my sons. (We share name)

madroid · 13/11/2021 13:09

ALL private parking penalty issuers that try to pass off their tickets as proper PCNs.

And then pass you to a debt collection agency for their dodgy charges.

Nobranothanks · 13/11/2021 13:10

HSBC because 10+ years ago they wouldn't let me withdraw my own money - i was in the branch! Apparently I was only allowed to withdraw £200 of the £600 i asked for as thee was a "limit on my account." the account was well in credit not overdrawn or anything and I had multiple forms of ID on me

The RSPCA (don't get me started!)

ThePowerOfThree3 · 13/11/2021 13:12

@Ginisatonic John Lewis just joined mine too! Second year running they’ve cocked up a Christmas order.

Last year I received a 3 pack of men’s boxers instead of the frozen advent calendar I ordered for my daughter, this year I ordered a beautiful Boden pinafore set for my daughter and received a t shirt with an elephant on!!

Both times the items I had ordered had gone out of stock so couldn’t rectify the orders :(

The Halifax were on it but we appear to have moved our mortgage to them so I've let that one go because it was a good deal I'm a bigger person.
Leeds building society, admittedly that was a while ago.

Sadly, Oxfam. When my DGM was becoming frail she ended up taking out multiple direct debits to Oxfam, and whenever they asked for more she did another. I find it difficult to reconcile some of the harder-edged fundraising practices with the values and principles some of these charities are meant to hold.

Also WHSmith as I don’t want a chocolate orange for £1.

Coughee · 13/11/2021 13:18

Liverpool for me. I moved there for work in my early 20s and was bullied badly. I know logically it could happen anywhere but I can't stand the sound of a scouse accent now and I don't think I could ever visit the place again. Too many horrible memories.

dontletthemugglesgetyoudownn · 13/11/2021 13:27

The local co op useless

follygirl · 13/11/2021 13:32

Ferrero Rocher. My father used to sell cocoa and they completely stitched him up, reneging on a previously agreed price. I can't stand the chocolates and won't have it in my house

Johnson & Johnson. Something about selling powdered formula to African countries and babies dying because of the dirty water used when they would have been fine on breast milk

LetHimHaveIt · 13/11/2021 13:32

'And I’d never go to Cyprus following their treatment of a British rape victim.'

I imagine the parents of Louise Jensen aren't particularly keen to go to Cyprus, either, given that their tour guide daughter was in 1994 raped and murdered there - by a group of British squaddies.

pinguwozpushed · 13/11/2021 13:33

For me Halifax Bank, TSB, Lush, Tesco mobile and a local previously very good takeaway who have got my order wrong twice now.
