Dolls house??? Barbie dream house?

Do your dc love it?

I had a sindy house when I was little, with a lift and a roof garden. It had a shower that squirted water and a wardrobe you could hang clothes in. Dining table with plates etc. Light up oven and telly.

I also had a portable one which was just a spike with cardboard rooms that slid in.

I loved both so much.

Is the dream house as good? Is there another amazing dolls house that does loads of stuff??

I can’t help but I loved my Sindy dining room set.

I am so tempted to buy vintage sindy things on ebay. I expect they'd smell though.

I’m looking at buying the 2021 dream house but trying to decide if £250 is a piss take.
It does look good and I know it will be played with… but £250!!!!
Wonder if it will end up on Black Friday sales?

Slayduggee · 12/11/2021 13:40

My DD almost 4 desperately wants a Barbie dream house for Christmas so I’m watching this thread with interest!

Didisquat · 12/11/2021 13:41

I got a second hand on off fb for £40 cos they are so ridiculously expensive, my 5 year old loves it 😊 she plays with it all the time

frogswimming · 12/11/2021 13:49

I mean, the dream house does light up and it has a lift and a disco ball. It looks amazing.

Although does it have tiny little knives and forks and a working shower????

I don't know, it's so expensive and I'm not sure it's as good as my original....

(This is for dc not meGrin)

Second hand is a good call, I'm going to investigate.

We have this one. We were lucky and given it as a gift....It has been really well played with and has lasted well. If my daughter was 4 or 5 and really I to Barbies then consider buying a house. Although.....there are lots of good second hand ones available and yes there do go on black Friday deals but only a few and you have to be quick to get one.

Would this be suitable for a just about to turn 6 year old? She loves barbies!

flowerycurtain · 12/11/2021 14:14

My 7 year old has one and has had a lot of play out of it. She got it for her 6th birthday. I wish she had it from 5 as she's not playing with it much now.

Mumdiva99 · 12/11/2021 15:52

My daughter played with hers a lot until age 11....but she has played with her toys longer than some of her friends.

Mumdiva99 · 19/11/2021 11:34

This one looks amazing for £65....@frogswimming

I bought my daughter one of those massive wooden kidkraft houses (£6 on ebay!) and my daughter prefers the plastic one Mumdiva99 linked to. It’s small compared to the dream house one though - I think that would be her preference.

FrankiesKnuckle · 19/11/2021 11:47

We've got something very similar to this. Came with a little toilet that makes flushing sounds and a standard lamp that actually lights up and a piano that also 'plays'
Played daily with barbies/LOLs/sylvanian animals.
Less than half the price of the dream house.

We had the barbie dream house, we got it at a decent price. Think a catalogue with new customer discount. It was good, not much light up think you tube videos really hammed up what it could do. The lift was great tiny little accessories. Coat hangers, cutlery etc and tv
We also bought the lol winter house, that had a lot more magic to it, great quality. Although the amount of unwrapping of the bits naffed me off.

Skippettydooo · 19/11/2021 11:53

We have had 3 of the costco kidkraft ones, they all have had various light up and sound accessories. Would recommend but be prepared to lose the will to live when building and build it in the room it will be kept in as logistically it's a nightmare to move once built

myheartskippedabeat · 19/11/2021 11:53

On offer in Asda
