I'd like to take DD out for a meal to celebrate something, we can get to either city and have no preference for which one.

She's 11 and I'd love to find somewhere that will impress her (ha!). She's into most types of food, budget not too high end. TIA.

Look at northern quarter in Manchester, the area is really quirky. Yard and coop is good or turtle bay

Thanks, both look good

If she likes Indian food, what about Mowgli?

Some of the tables for two have swings for seats, which is likely to be fun for her, but it says you can't book them 'due to high demand' so I'm not sure how you can get one. Maybe phone the restaurant and say it's a special occasion and see what they say?

If she'd eat Japanese style food then Cottonopolis?

Evelyns in NQ is also nice and really pretty with all the plants

Dishoom in Manchester Hall is also a good one and beautiful surroundings

Lots of options, thank you!
