They're my daughter's and she is NOT happy with me. She gave them to me the other night because she was going out and I stashed them somewhere safe - CANNOT find them for love nor money!

What's that St Anthony's prayer thing?

Biscuit jar or tin?

mynameismaybe · 11/11/2021 18:01

I lost my car keys once and turned the whole house over looking for them. I'd put them in the bin whilst having a tidy up. Had to go through the whole outside bin as an absolute last resort "they can't be anywhere else" kind of thing and yup...there they were!

Behind a sideboard unit as they fell down the back?
Side of sofas/behind mattress of bed?
Do you have a storage type pouffe, maybe?
Pocket of jacket, old handbag?
Inside a shoe?
Medicine cabinet?
Kitchen cupboard?
Freezer/fridge (it happens!)
Glovebox/ middle console/door storageof of your own car?

jackstini · 11/11/2021 18:20

Fridge
All coat, jacket, trouser pockets
Next to a loo
Bedroom drawer
Safe
Stairs
Windowsill

I'll pray too

RalphLaurenG · 11/11/2021 18:30

I'm so certain I put them somewhere in the kitchen. I had a million things to do so I've just shoved them somewhere 😩 God damn aged brains! I've been through our big food cupboard (needed to be done anyway), the letter rack, our disgrace of a utility room side.
I'm lost!

Thank you for prayers 🙏🏻

In a pile of clean washing?
Breadbin?
Coat pocket?

Lulu1919 · 11/11/2021 18:31

Sounds odd....but stop looking
Then you might have a BING moment and remember

ColitisSucks · 11/11/2021 18:35

At the risk of sounding like my DM Hmm - where did you last see them? What we're you doing when she gave them to you? We're you doing something like folding laundry where you could have put them in something that you've now carried out of the kitchen?

RB68 · 11/11/2021 18:40

pls excuse capitals

i FIND A WALK THROUGH - WHERE WERE YOU WHEN SHE GAVE THEM TO YOU AND WHAT WERE YOU WEARING - CHECK AROUND THAT AREA/ROOM AND ALSO IN THE CLOTHES YOU HAD ON, WHAT DID YOU DO NEXT, CHECK BATHROOMS NR LOO OR SINK, BEDSIDE TABLE OR DRAWER, KITCHEN ALL SORTS DRAW, WINE GLASSES IN THE CUPBOARDS, ON A SIDEBOARD IN SOMETHING THAT BELONGS TO dd, SHOES? fRUITBOWLS, COAT POCKETS, HOOKS?

Beebumble2 · 11/11/2021 18:46

Fridge/freezer?
I found lost car keys that had fallen to the floor and been kicked under a table to a dark corner.

seething1234 · 11/11/2021 18:52

We lost our car keys and found them in a cookbook. It was mother’s day and I was cooking a meal from a recipe, OH had come in from the shops and threw the keys on top of the opened book, it got closed and put away. I found it by mentally walking through my day (after we had emptied every drawer and press!)

ItsDinah · 11/11/2021 18:53

What other things did you do after she gave them to you? Try retracing your steps. If you think they were in the kitchen then it's worth checking it again and then a third time.

DahliaMacNamara · 11/11/2021 18:54

In a drawer, and they've fallen down the back? That's where stashed things disappear to in my house, anyway.

RalphLaurenG · 11/11/2021 20:57

I've tried to clear my mind and remember but I think that made it worse. This is so stupid!

Anything lost is often less than 18 inches from where you think it should be.
Where “should” the keys be ?

User3456 · 11/11/2021 21:01

We lost ours at my mum's once. She found them 6 months later when her kitchen flooded and she had to pull the fridge out - they had fallen behind there.

SorryPardonWhat · 11/11/2021 21:11

Open all kitchen drawers. You thought you were putting them in a safe drawer. You actually put them in another completely random drawer.

Inthemane · 11/11/2021 21:37

On your own key ring?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/11/2021 21:58

I too found mine in the bin after 4 hours.

Could they be over the back of one of thes cupboards? That’s where we found my ex’s passport once. His brother had borrowed his bag and just chucked it in.

VickyPollardsTracksuit · 11/11/2021 22:08

I feel like they are in a bag hung on a banister near a coat

Angrymum22 · 11/11/2021 22:18

Did you put them in a pocket thinking you would put them somewhere safe when you had finished what you were doing?
In our house my keys are always in one of two places, where I leave them or where my DH puts them when he finds where I’ve left them. He always puts them in my handbag when I leave them in a bowl in the kitchen. If they are not in either location all hell breaks loose. As a back up both spare car keys are in my handbag.

AndSoFinally · 11/11/2021 22:24

Do you have small children? This is where I once found my lost car key after days of looking.... 🤦🏻

Please help - lost car keys!!

Grin hilarious!
billyt · 12/11/2021 15:16

They are win the last place you'd look.

If you can think where that is, you'll find them

Not helpful, I know Grin

billyt · 12/11/2021 15:17
