NHS online id verification. How long?

Rewis · 11/11/2021 17:25

Bf just signed in to the NHS login online portal thingy to get his NHS covid vaxx certificate. He had to take picture of his passport and now its waiting for verification. Any idea how long this takes? We kinda need his vaxx certificate very quickly.

Mine took about 2 hours ds took 4 days

DahliaMacNamara · 11/11/2021 18:51

I don't remember doing that at all. In fact I'm sure I didn't: I decided to register one night when I couldn't sleep, in the dark. I think I used my online GP details instead, and verification was pretty much instantaneous.

Leafsontheline · 11/11/2021 18:52

Only an hour or so

EffOrfagain · 11/11/2021 18:54

3 days

YouKilledKenny · 11/11/2021 19:16

Literally 2 minutes. Someone at work did hers today and same for her

EinsteinaGogo · 11/11/2021 19:21

I definitely didn't have to upload a copy of my passport.

Is that new?

EffOrfagain · 11/11/2021 19:31

I did mine in May and had to upload passport and video myself saying 4 numbers

Overthebow · 11/11/2021 19:31

About 12 hours

Overthebow · 11/11/2021 19:32

How quickly did you need it?

Rewis · 11/11/2021 20:51

Thanks guys! We need it by wednesday. It said that it can take upto 7 days but I'm really hoping it's quicker. This is slightly comforting

Update: I know nobody cares in such a low level question. But they could not verify it and it needs to be done again. Ffs.

It's strange . I was never asked to do this and nor was my husband. My son and his GF both had to , although the approval came through very quickly (minutes / hours , certainly not days). I first got my vaccination certificate a couple of months before the others did, but my husband first tried his the same time as son/GF.

thenightsky · 11/11/2021 23:58

Mine was through in about 5 mins.

Kutekittens · 12/11/2021 00:02

Is this a covid double vaccination certificate op? Because I don't remember verifying at all. I just filled in all details with my NHS number and vaccination dates and received certificate via post in weeks time. There was an option to download too if I remember correctly.

Ring up 119 and get a paper one, there is a chance it may come on time anyway, as a backup while doing the app again. A hard copy is useful anyway in case anything happens with phone if you are travelling, I would always print it out anyway, just in case if it was something important, relying on the app is probably ok for the pub but not for travelling and stuff like that
halloweenie13 · 12/11/2021 05:03

Mine took around a week

OhGiveUp · 12/11/2021 05:29

I did mine online for both me and DHI wasn't asked for a copy of anything except for normal personal details, such as name and d.o.b.
I requested the paper cert and they both arrived two days later.

greyspottedgoose · 12/11/2021 06:30

Can anyone please pop a link in to where we actually apply for it

Rewis · 12/11/2021 06:54

According to the instructions you can print the digital one if needed a hard copy. We unfortunately will head out on Sunday from home so not sure there is time for hard copy.

Can anyone please pop a link in to where we actually apply for it

Thank you, obviously it's more awkward living in Wales, why did I expect it to be simple

Rewis · 12/11/2021 15:54

Verification came through! Yay!
