Hello everyone, My 5 weeks old baby boy tested positive for COVID yesterday. I’m super worried something bad is going to happen. Is there anyone that had the same experience? Anything we can do? Hope to read positive outcomes.

My daughter had covid at 1, she unfortunately had to stay in hospital for two nights due to a high temperature that just wouldn't come down, but was perfectly fine in herself. Just more fatigued than usual. She was better after 5 days, and had no lasting effects! Nearly 2 years later, and she's a perfectly happy healthy little girl.

Good to know she’s fine now. How does it work in the hospital, do they keep babies in the paediatric department or transfer to a more general one with adults? And did they let you stay with her?

Mine had it. All fine and barely noticed.

Does he have any symptoms?

If not, that’s good. Get him lots of fresh air to help his lungs. Keep windows open. Lots of fluids.

Check with your GP on what you can give him, like calpol or neurofen and flag if he has any symptoms so you get some proper advice.

You’re likely to get it, so make sure you are well and have someone to help out. Meal deliveries etc. so you can focus on him. If you do get it, Sudafed and cough syrup work well if you have mild symptoms. (Clearly not a cure and you need to get your own medical advice if you do become unwell).

Don’t stress. You will all be fine x
