Is it too late to be excellent?

I'm 43 and a very driven, motivated person. Are you driven or are you happy just to muddle along?

Neither.

I want to be brilliant at my occupation, whilst putting in all my most serious hours on MN.

On the one hand it feels slightly undignified to visibly exert as much effort as my half-my-age peers, On the other, I eat a diet of lemons when their successes are splashed across the Internet.

I plan to achieve world-beating excellence in my ninetieth year, so I’m reserving my energy until then …
