This is driving me nuts- what is the name of this curtain hook gadget?

It’s not actually a curtain hook.

It’s like a hinged rod that is attached to the wall, and you close it so it holds the edge of the curtain flat against the wall- presumably to block out light and draughts. I have no idea what it’s called though.

Anybody know the name of this contraption?

Do you mean a portiere rod?

No, I don’t think so…

You fix it to the wall, like you would a curtain tieback hook, but it’s a short rod on a hinge. It opens up and then you close it so it’s holding the side of the curtain flat against the wall.

room darkening curtain rod? I have them, the curtain rod bends so the curtains lie flat against the wall before coming out in front of the window.

Same function, but no…

It’s sort of like a dormer rod except you don’t actually hang the curtain from it and it’s only a few inches long.

Maybe a swing arm curtain rod then?

Oh Blush I've completely misread!
