Waking up with stiff shoulders and painful wrists every day

Things are a bit high stress here at the moment but we are working through it. Busy job, 3 kids and moving house is keeping us busy.

Problem is I am waking up every morning with stiff shoulders - tense, and it extends down to sore wrists, elbows and hand joints. It wears off during the day or with the help of painkillers

I think I am clenching hard in the night, I sleep on my front. I do regularly exercise and go to bed earlish but I am wondering if anyone has good ideas to help this

Have you been supplementing vitamin D? Achy forearms and wrists was my main symptom, turned out I was badly deficient! If you've not been supplementing, it could well be that (with neck/shoulders being the stress causing tension, so the two not related).

Possibly time for a blood test (or just jump straight to supplementation if you're in the UK!) and some physio for your neck tension?

I have this
I have really sore wrists all the time though and in the middle of trying to get it diagnosed (I've had x rays and they say arthritis but I think a tendon issue)

I did damage my shoulder a few years ago so I wonder if it's all linked. You have my sympathy op

I was going to suggest Vit D too.

I'll just say I take vit D and am not deficient (blood tested) so worth talking to your gp or perhaps a physio which is what I am going to do next.

I also suggest doing some stretches and a meditation / guided meditation app like “Calm” before bed to reduce your tension and help you sleep better.
