What is this book?

Please help! About 10 years ago I read a set of crime books that I really enjoyed but cant remember what they were called or the author.

It was about 3 books, all set in the Newcastle area with the annual travelling fair being the epicentre for murder.

It focused on the police investigations and the local community.

I'm sure the author was female, possibly called Pauline but definitely had her surname beginning with a Q (not Pauline Quirke). I think she was local to the area she wrote about.

I've googled, checked amazon etc but I bought them from a second hand bookshop so have no records of what they were called and cant find anything online.

Is anyone able to help?

Bad Moon Rising, Living on a Prayer and Run for Home, I believe the trilogy is.
