Except I dont have the same body or capacity to drink like I did in 1995. Im meeting my old crowd and we are going to see Jarvis. Just like we saw Pulp all those years ago. Except he wont sing any Pulp will he?😀

Oh man, that was my life in 1995-1998.

I was 15 in 1995 and spent my life drinking in the Good Mixer (them were the days of getting served without ID Grin)

EachandEveryone · 09/11/2021 15:48

London was a fab place to train especially in that era. I suspect we will be in our hotel by 11 tonight 😃

EachandEveryone · 09/11/2021 17:32

Your night out sounds fab- have a lovely time Smile

Haggisfish3 · 09/11/2021 21:08

An update so I know whether to buy tickets! Is Jarvis still swoon worthy?! 😂

CovidCorvid · 09/11/2021 21:10

I saw Pulp in 1996, they were awesome. Loved Jarvis.

minipie · 09/11/2021 21:11

Me too CovidCorvid. Trying to remember where… Astoria maybe?

minipie · 09/11/2021 21:15

Ah no it was 1995, Forum, supported by Minty (who were properly weird as I recall)

CovidCorvid · 09/11/2021 21:20

Yes! Actually was 95 for me as well, minty were the support act. Middlesbrough town hall. I lost my favourite sweater……or was that the Suede gig!

Haggisfish3 · 09/11/2021 21:21

I saw them at Glastonbury when they replaced stone roses. Fecking epic!!

Annabelle69 · 09/11/2021 21:37

@Haggisfish3 That entire Glastonbury (1996) was epic! I was 25. Oasis, The Cure, Pulp, The Prodigy, Elastica, Offspring (that was one he'll of a gig), Portishead the last goes on... we had to make some tough decisions on great bands to miss that clashed with other great bands. I so miss the 80s and 90s.

Enjoy your evening OP.

36degrees · 09/11/2021 22:30

I was at Glastonbury 95 too. PJ Harvey on the Saturday in the pink catsuit was amazing, and catching Evan Dando in a tiny tent. My mum and dad only knew I was okay because they spotted me on TV sitting on my friend's shoulders when Pulp were on. A brilliant year to turn 18.

Hope tonight has been just as good, OP.

KeyErro · 09/11/2021 22:34

Oh wow, hope you had a great evening Star

Abracadabra12345 · 09/11/2021 22:35

Lucky you. I’ve been a Jarvis / Pulp fan for years

Catawaul · 09/11/2021 22:38

Ahhhh music was my whole life back then. I miss it.

OhThatChicken · 09/11/2021 22:46

I need to know. Did he play any Pulp?

YoungGiftedPlump · 09/11/2021 22:52

You may feel like you felt in 95 but Camden isnt like 95 (unless you mean the average age is 95?)

sweatpantsofdefeat · 09/11/2021 23:15

Ah Camden in the 90's, The Dublin Castle, The Good Mixer, Electric Ballroom, The Underground.

So many (sticky, smoke-filled) memories. You could get away with a bit of paper that said 'I'm 18, honest' for ID.

BrettAndersonscheekbones · 09/11/2021 23:22

Wonderful. Seeing Suede day after tomorrow at Ally Pally. Going to party like it's 1996.

EachandEveryone · 09/11/2021 23:25

She’s a Lady and My Legendary Girlfriend so really only for the hardcore Pulp fans. He was fantastic though and still completely shaggable. Listen to his latest stuff before you go. We are at the hotel now. I seem to have developed my 1995 smoking habits tonight and want to run outside for one!

1996 some of us got tickets for a TV recording of A Live with Jack Dee type show at Wombledon Theatre, the Chinese State Circus kept having to do retake's we were going to miss the coach back so we left. Some stayed behind (said they had money for the train). I wish I had too because they got to see Pulp perform Sad!

BlueFlavour · 10/11/2021 06:42

@sweatpantsofdefeat I loved the Electric Ballroom Grin
God those were the days

Fun fact: I met both my husbands in the Dublin Castle BlushGrin

(I mean the ex and the current one - I don’t have two).
