My long-distance friend is caring for her terminally ill husband. He is reaching end of life. I visit when I can but have young children and work. What can I send her that will actually help or give her a lift? Any ideas appreciated x

I like the not another bunch of flowers website, set up by a cancer survivor. It's got loads of self care bits and pieces and I use it quite a bit for general gifts, not just for those with cancer.

Depending on where they live ‘Cook’ vouchers are good. I got some for a friend that was bereaved recently rather than flowers as I thought they would have loads already. It’s a few nights off cooking and the meals are reasonably healthy and not mass produced.
