I'm in a circular hell of conflicting advice. FCO says something different to .be and Eurostar site. What we'd like to do is go to Brussels for the weekend to see some lovely friends. Has anyone been v recently? What's the deal?

Belgium's advice is that we are red country, outside the EU/Schengen so need to isolate, test 1-2 days after arrival. Which isn't good for a weekend.

You need to go off the Belgian advice- the FCO advice is from the point of view of the UK- ie there are no rules from our side to prevent you going. But Belgium have rules about who they want to let in etc regardless of what our foreign office says.

Follow @belgiuminuk (Belgian embassy in UK) on Twitter and read through their posts. Don't rely on UK Gov advice as in the case of Belgium it is misleading and incorrect. The Belgian gov site is convoluted and confusing. In a nutshell, if you stay under 48 hours and are double jabbed, no test needed in BE. Over 48 hours, you have to test on arrival and isolate while waiting for result. Good luck

Always go with the official advice from the country you’re intending to visit. Do not ever rely on FCO advice or any Eurostar or airline website. They’re not always up to date.

@itsmesooky that's what we'd heard which is why we thought we'd go!
