Turtle Bay - need menu advice from please.

I'm meeting a friend there later - never eaten Caribbean food before and don't really know what to order. I'm a wimp when it comes to chilli, I like a tingle but not a burn!!!
What is tasty but won't blow my head off????

I don't eat meat so obviously can't comment on much of the menu but look for things tossed with jerk sauce and ask them not add the jerk (the gravy is hot). I'm sure they'll prepare something to your taste if you ask them. The servers have always been really helpful when I've been to the one in Bath.

I had the curried goat for main (tastes just like lamb) and it was only very mildly spicy

Last time there I had the Caribbean Katsu. Not especially hot. The coconut Buttermilk Fried Chicken isn't very hot either.

The goat sounds good... I'm happy to try new things but I hate ending up making a mistake and ending up with something too hot that i can't eat it😂

It's not the most authentic Carribean place so not particularly spicy. I had the sweetcorn fritters and trini doubled and then the aubergine curry. My husband had the jerk wings which he didn't enjoy at all and the curry goat which was decent enough.

The sweetcorn roti roll isn’t spicy but it’s really nice. Their brunches are great if you’re there early enough.
My favourite is the jerk tofu with the grilled pineapple. That’s got more of a kick but not blow your head off.

The goat curry is the best thing on the menu. Everything else is bland.

The best thing at turtle bay are the cocktails, the food at the one here isn't very nice and is so far from authentic it's shocking.

The staff are generally quite knowledgable about the menu, so just ask.

Maybe I’ve been really lucky with the local one. I’m not thinking it’s authentic but I’ve always liked the food.
