“Make Brexit Work” says Sir Keir Starmer

He was on Andrew Marr (Sunday 07 Nov. about 53 minutes in). He went on to say do not rejoin nor dump the existing agreement we must negotiate.
In fact, we shall be in a state of continuous negotiation indefinitely over one topic or another.
To me both of these statements are so obviously true. We cannot possibly go back to them and re-apply. Another few years of turmoil,- No thank you. I doubt they would take us seriously anyway.

Might we all start accepting reality now?

I think there is going to be turmoil anyway? If the UK triggers article 16 on Friday as is looking likely at the moment turmoil might be unstating what will happen. It is looking like we(I'm in the EU) might withdraw the trade agreement with the UK which will be disastrous all round. With the current UK government being as untrustworthy as they are I'm not sure what other options the EU have though, of course you can go through the courts but what is there to say that the UK will actually abide by any ruling at the end of it?

It is a shit show for sure and I don't know what the next while will have in store for us.

Well, we can't reapply because 1) too many people still believe the myth that Brexit is great and the fallout is all down to the EU being mean, and 2) they rightly wouldn't have us.

What we can and should do is stop behaving like arseholes who still rule the world and I hope this is what Keir Starmer means.

I hope in 20 or 30 years' time we'll have the sense to rejoin the Single Market and Customs Union.
