Toasters-sorry it’s a bit dull!

I would like a 4 slice toaster, budget about £50 (can’t bring myself to spend much more than that on a toaster!). Just want quite plain chrome/black/grey, not overly fussy on all the ones with diamond type patterns etc. But overall I’d just like one that actually toasts the bread properly Grin, a lot of the ones I look at seem to have some crappy reviews. Or so I need to spend £££ on a dualit to actually get a bit of bread toasted properly Confused

Tried loads of toasters that were pants. Bought a dualit about 20 years ago and it’s still going strong.

See I wondered if that’s what people might say Smile! The current one that is broken is a Russell Hobbs and has only lasted 3 years...

another one with a dualit...I was trying to work out how old it was. We bought it at the house before last, we were there from 95 to 99, so it's a minimum of 22 years old!
It does need a new timer, but it still toasts amazingly and the rule is NEVER LEAVE THE TOASTER when you are toasting.

I've had my dualit 20+ years, one minor cheap repair

Love it

Morphy Richards Evoke fits shop sliced bread in. Has to be the Evoke though.

I drew around a slice of the bread I used onto card and took it to the shop, dropped it in each toaster I looked at to make sure it fitted.

I plan on doing the same with my dinner plates and microwaves soon 😂

Haha love it @KilledByWitches Grin

I just said at the weekend I was going to have to measure the oven for new plates...none of the current crockery will fit in the small oven to warm or in the bloody cupboards, but that's cos we moved and they LOVE LOVE LOVED 300mm cupboards. bastards

I recently bought a Dualit and it is crap. It doesn't toast evenly. It's only 2 slice but cost £85 Angry
Get something better

I asked this the last time I needed to buy a toaster. Almost everyone told me to get a Dualit, but I ignored them and spent £17 on a Russell Hobbs which fits large slices of bread, and 7 years later I have no regrets.
