Sudden breast pain

Posting for traffic as didn't get responses in health! Feeling worried and wondering if anyone has any knowledge. For the last two days my nipple has been hurting on one side. I can't really feel it without applying pressure and it is quite localised, actually the areola just below the nipple. I can't really feel a lump though possibly the skin is a bit tight? It looks completely normal. It feels very like when I was breastfeeding and would get a blocked duct. Earlier my son bumped into it and it hurt in exactly the same way. I haven't breastfed in 3 years though. Googling hasn't really helped me so will contact GP. Not sure why I'm posting just offloading some anxiety about it really. Does it sound really concerning?? Anyone had the same?

At my 3 year post breast cancer check the doctor told me breast pain is not a sign of cancer unless it’s got down into your bones and is keeping you awake at night.

Thank you @MinnieMountain, that's reassuring. Hope you're well now!

You’re welcome OP. I’d had breast pain worrying me for months before my check-up, so I know what it’s like.

I've been to the breast clinic twice for pain, ten years apart. First time I was told it was muscular, second, just a few weeks ago, I was told most likely hormonal now I'm in my late 30's.

There are so many things that can cause breast pain.

It is highly likely that it's not anything serious but go to your GP as soon as you can. Better to always get checked.

Get it checked by GP.
