Available for pre-order

Everyone says they're worth a punt for £20 and they're never in stock when I look. And it is hot chocolate season after all...

Thanks op, I've ordered one, worth a try!

Yellow85 · 07/11/2021 20:45

Interested in how this works out! I have a nespresso aeroccino frothed and tried hot chocolate in it once - it did not work out 🙈

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 07/11/2021 20:47

I'd love a comparison review by someone who's used both.

OliverCookies · 07/11/2021 20:47

That's not as hot as normal coffee is it? Just had a Google as hate like warm drinks.

I have the Aldi one which I use with the Hotel Chocolat mix. It’s easy to drink straight away....is hot enough to melt marshmallows alright though.

I'm kind of glad to hear that to be honest I've an aeroccino that never gets used but didn't think about it before ordering the velvetiser for DH for Christmas , glad they're not interchangeable
WorriedMillie · 07/11/2021 20:56

We’ve got the Asda version, for those who can’t get hold of the Audi one. It’s been hammered and it’s absolutely fine! I think it was £25

WorriedMillie · 07/11/2021 20:56

Aldi!!! Damn autocorrect

BarbaraofSeville · 07/11/2021 20:57

I bought the Lidl version for about £17 a couple of years ago. It was pretty good and did the job, making lovely hot chocolate.

It was not quite hot enough for me, but neither is HC cafe hot chocolate, nor any others for that matter.

I like my hot drinks properly hot - people often comment how quickly I drink them, so I rarely have hot chocolate out, as it's never hot enough for me to properly enjoy them, even when I specify I'd like them extra hot.

I've given the chocolate maker to a relative because we have a Lavazza coffee machine with an inbuilt milk heater and I use that now. When I've made the drink, I then microwave it for a minute so it's properly hot enough for me to drink.

DaxtheDestroyer · 07/11/2021 20:58

I have one that o got from Amazon a couple of years ago, went for one with large capacity to make multiple hot chocolates at once. Seriously one of the best things I've ever bought. Used ALL the time. Half the price of the velvetiser (but more expensive than Aldi!)

MiloAndEddie · 07/11/2021 21:18

My Aldi one gave up after two uses, bag of crap

TiredMummyZZZ · 07/11/2021 21:31

Just pre ordered one, thanks!

Did you return it? They have a 3yr warranty that I've used with no issues before.
BarkminsterBlue · 07/11/2021 21:37

I’ve never found anything better than a traditional Italian cappuccino creamer where you pump an arm attached to the lid. I find both Velvetiser and Aeroccino tepid.

amusedbush · 07/11/2021 21:38

I’ve got an Aeroccino (it came free with my Nespresso machine on Black Friday a few years ago) and it does not do well when I try to make hot chocolate in it. It’s like it’s too thick and it just cuts out Sad

namebunny · 07/11/2021 21:43

What does a velvetiservdo?

Bicnod · 07/11/2021 21:53

Thanks OP, just ordered one Smile

magicstar1 · 08/11/2021 09:13

@TheSpottedZebra Aldi have great warranties. I bought a tv and it died after 2 years and 10 months. The store manager had no TVs in stock and gave me my money back - €650. Two weeks later the same TVs came back in for €350. I was delighted.

LadyOfMisrule · 08/11/2021 09:54

I just use a pan and a whisk. (I like mine nice and hot.) What is the advantage of a velvetiser, please?
