Christmas Outing suggestions for 11 yr old

My granddaughter is coming over from USA for Christmas and I want to get her a gift of an outing she can do over the hols. Something like GoApe. We’re near Manchester but can travel if needed.
Any good suggestions?

So it doesn't need to be a 'Christmassy' thing ? Just a day out ?

On her own or would someone go with her ?

What about a pantomime ? I mean, if she is coming to the UK from the States, it might be seen as being something typically British, that she can't do at home, rather than something I should imagine there is a US equivalent of.

With that in mind, what about things like castles, Cathedrals, etc that would pre-date American buildings by quite a few centuries ?

Round here all the stately homes and castles do christmas lights stuff that’s quite cool, maybe check around you for that

Lanterns at Chester zoo. You don't see the animals but it's an evening light show. We went last year and it was lovely.
